قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الصَّلْتُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْعَاصِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الطُّفَاوِيَّ قَالَ خَرَجَ أَبُو الْغَادِيَةِ وحَبِيبُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ وَأُمُّ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ مُهَاجِرِينَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَسْلَمُوا فَقَالَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ أَوْصِنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِيَّاكِ وَمَا يَسُوءُ الْأُذُنَ.
English Translation
He said: al-Salt ibn Mas'ud al-Jahdari narrated to me, he said: Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Tufawi narrated to us, he said: I heard al-'As ibn 'Amr al-Tufawi say: Abu al-Ghadiyah and Habib ibn al-Harith and Umm Abi al-'Aliyah set out as emigrants to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and they embraced Islam. The woman said, "Advise me, O Messenger of God." He said: "Beware of that which offends the ear."
