English Translation
'Abdullah narrated to us: Abu Ahmad al-Haytham ibn Kharijah narrated to us, he said: Isma'il ibn 'Ayyash narrated to us, from Ishaq ibn 'Abdullah ibn Abi Farwah, from Yusuf ibn Sulayman, from his grandmother Maymunah, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Sannah, that he heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Islam began as something strange, and it will return to being something strange as it began, so blessed are the strangers." It was said, "O Messenger of God, who are the strangers?" He said: "Those who set things right when people are corrupt. And by the One in whose hand is my soul, faith will surely draw together towards Medina just as the flood gathers its debris, and by the One in whose hand is my soul, Islam will surely withdraw to what is between the two mosques, just as the snake withdraws into its hole."
