قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ نِسَائِهِمْ قَالَ وَقَدْ كَانَتْ صَلَّتْ الْقِبْلَتَيْنِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لِي اخْتَضِبِي تَتْرُكُ إِحْدَاكُنَّ الْخِضَابَ حَتَّى تَكُونَ يَدُهَا كَيَدِ الرَّجُلِ قَالَتْ فَمَا تَرَكَتْ الْخِضَابَ حَتَّى لَقِيَتْ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَتَخْتَضِبُ وَإِنَّهَا لَابْنَةُ ثَمَانِينَ.
English Translation
He said: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq informed us, from Damrah ibn Sa'id, from his grandmother, from a woman among their womenfolk -- he said: she had prayed towards both qiblahs with the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him -- she said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, came in to me and said to me: "Dye your hands with henna; one of you leaves off the dye until her hand becomes like a man's hand." She said: So she never left off the dye until she met God, the Mighty and Majestic, and she used to dye her hands even though she was eighty years old.
