قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الْمُقْرِئُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ بْنِ نِيَارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا يُجْلَدُ فَوْقَ عَشَرَةِ أَسْوَاطٍ فِيمَا دُونَ حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَذَا قَالَ لَنَا لَمْ يَقُلْ عَنْ أَبِيهِ.
English Translation
He said: 'Abdullah al-Muqri' narrated to us, who said: Sa'id ibn Abi Ayyub informed us, who said: Yazid ibn Abi Habib narrated to me, from Bukayr ibn 'Abdullah ibn al-Ashajj, from Sulayman ibn Yasar, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Jabir ibn 'Abdullah, from Abu Burdah ibn Niyar, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "No one is to be flogged more than ten lashes for anything short of one of the prescribed punishments of Allah, Mighty and Majestic" - thus he related it to us, not saying "from his father."
