قَالَ قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي الدِّيلِ يُقَالُ لَهُ بُسْرُ بْنُ مِحْجَنٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ مِحْجَنٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي مَجْلِسٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأُذِّنَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ رَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمِحْجَنٌ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ مَعَ النَّاسِ أَلَسْتَ بِرَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنِّي كُنْتُ قَدْ صَلَّيْتُ فِي أَهْلِي فَقَالَ لَهُ إِذَا جِئْتَ فَصَلِّ مَعَ النَّاسِ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ قَدْ صَلَّيْتَ.
English Translation
He said: I read to Abd al-Rahman: Malik, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from a man of Banu al-Dil, called Busr ibn Mihjan, from his father Mihjan, that he was in a gathering with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and the call to prayer was given. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, got up and prayed. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, returned, while Mihjan was still in his gathering. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him: "What prevented you from praying with the people? Are you not a Muslim man?" He said: "Yes indeed, O Messenger of Allah, but I had already prayed with my family." He said to him: "When you come, pray with the people, even if you have already prayed."
