حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ قَالَ قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا سُلَيْمَانُ مَوْلًى لِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ زَمَنَ الْحَجَّاحِ فَحَدَّثَنَا عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاءَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ وَالْبِشْرُ يُرَى فِي وَجْهِهِ فَقُلْنَا إِنَّا لَنَرَى الْبِشْرَ فِي وَجْهِكَ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ أَتَانِي مَلَكٌ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقُولُ أَمَا يُرْضِيكَ أَنْ لَا يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْكَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ إِلَّا صَلَّيْتُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا وَلَا يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا سَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا.
English Translation
Affan told us: Hammad ibn Salama told us: Thabit informed us, who said: Sulayman, a freedman of al-Hasan ibn Ali, came to us in the time of al-Hajjaj, and he told us, from Abdullah ibn Abi Talha, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came one day with cheerfulness apparent on his face. We said: "We indeed see cheerfulness on your face." He said: "An angel came to me and said: 'O Muhammad, your Lord says: Does it not please you that none of your nation sends blessings upon you but that I send blessings upon him tenfold, and none sends greetings of peace upon you but that I send greetings of peace upon him tenfold?'"
