قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ سَرِيعٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي قَدْ مَدَحْتُ اللَّهَ بِمَدْحَةٍ وَمَدَحْتُكَ بِأُخْرَى فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَاتِ وَابْدَأْ بِمَدْحَةِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
English Translation
He said: Hasan ibn Musa told us: Hammad ibn Zayd told us, from 'Ali ibn Zayd, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakrah, from al-Aswad ibn Sari', who said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, I have composed praise for Allah and composed other praise for you. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Recite it, and begin with the praise of Allah, mighty and majestic.
