قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَدْرٍ عَنْ طَلْقِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ وَفَدْنَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمَّا وَدَّعَنَا أَمَرَنِي فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِإِدَاوَةٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَحَثَا مِنْهَا ثُمَّ مَجَّ فِيهَا ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أَوْكَأَهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ اذْهَبْ بِهَا فَانْضَحْ مَسْجِدَ قَوْمِكَ وَأْمُرْهُمْ يَرْفَعُوا بِرُءُوسِهِمْ أَنْ رَفَعَهَا اللَّهُ قُلْتُ إِنَّ الْأَرْضَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ بَعِيدَةٌ وَإِنَّهَا تَيْبَسُ قَالَ فَإِذَا يَبِسَتْ فَمُدَّهَا.
English Translation
He said: Musa ibn Dawud told us: Muhammad ibn Jabir told us, from 'Abd Allah ibn Badr, from Talq ibn 'Ali, who said: We came as a delegation to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and when he bade us farewell he instructed me, so I brought him a vessel of water. He took a handful of it, then rinsed his mouth into it three times, then tied it shut, and said: Take it and sprinkle it on the mosque of your people, and command them to raise their heads, for Allah has raised them. I said: The land between us and you is far, and the water will dry up. He said: When it dries, add water to it.
