English Translation
Waki' told us: 'Amr ibn 'Uthman told us, from Musa ibn Talhah, from 'Uthman ibn Abi al-'As, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me: O 'Uthman, lead your people in prayer, and whoever leads people in prayer should be brief, for among them are the weak, the elderly, and those with pressing needs; but when you pray for yourself, pray as long as you wish.
