قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ عَنِ الرَّبَابِ عَنْ عَمِّهَا سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الضَّبِّيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى تَمْرٍ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَى مَاءٍ فَإِنَّهُ طَهُورٌ.
English Translation
He said, Sufyan ibn Uyayna told us, from Asim, from Hafsa, from al-Rabab, from her uncle Salman ibn Amir al-Dabbi, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: 'Let him break his fast with dates; and if he cannot find any, let him break his fast with water, for it is purifying.'
