قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَأَزْهَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ مَاتَ بِغَيْرِ بِلَادِكُمْ قَالُوا مَنْ هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ صُحْمَةُ النَّجَاشِيُّ وَقَالَ أَزْهَرُ صَحْمَةُ وَقَالَ أَزْهَرُ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ اللَّيْثِيِّ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ.
English Translation
He said: 'Abd al-Samad and Azhar ibn al-Qasim told us, they said: Al-Muthanna told us, Qatadah told us, from Abu al-Tufayl, from Hudhayfah ibn Asid: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came out to them one day and said: "Pray over your companion who has died in a land other than yours." They said: "Who is he, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Suhmah, the Negus" - and Azhar said "Sahmah" - and Azhar said [it was] from Abu al-Tufayl al-Laythi, from Hudhayfah ibn Asid al-Ghifari.
