قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَوَالِي قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا صَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ رَكَعَ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَأَوْتَرَ بِسَجْدَةٍ ثُمَّ نَامَ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ بَعْدَ صَلَاتِهِ بِاللَّيْلِ.
English Translation
He said: Abu Salamah al-Khuza'i told us, [he said]: Abdur-Rahman ibn Abi al-Mawali told us, he said: Nafi' ibn Thabit informed me, from Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr, who said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when he had prayed Isha, would pray four rak'ahs and then perform witr with a single sajdah, then he would sleep until he prayed again after that during the night."
