English Translation
He said: Sufyan told us, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Bushayr ibn Yasar, from Sahl ibn Abi Hathmah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade selling dried dates for dried dates, but permitted the 'araya to be bought by their estimated measure, so that their owners may eat them fresh. Sufyan said: Yahya ibn Sa'id said to me, "And what did the people of Mecca know about the 'araya?" I said, "'Ata' informed them, having heard it from Jabir."
