حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَضْرِبُ بِإِحْدَى يَدَيْهِ عَلَى الْأُخْرَى وَهُوَ يَقُولُ الشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا ثُمَّ نَقَصَ أُصْبُعَهُ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ.
English Translation
Sa'd said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came out to us and he was clapping one hand against the other, saying: 'The month is like this, and like this' — then he folded his finger on the third time (indicating twenty-nine days).
