قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ صُحَارٍ الْعَبْدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يُخْسَفَ بِقَبَائِلَ فَيُقَالُ مَنْ بَقِيَ مِنْ بَنِي فُلَانٍ قَالَ فَعَرَفْتُ حِينَ قَالَ قَبَائِلَ أَنَّهَا الْعَرَبُ لِأَنَّ الْعَجَمَ تُنْسَبُ إِلَى قُرَاهَا.
English Translation
Isma'il b. Ibrahim narrated to us, from al-Jurayri, from Abu al-Ala' b. al-Shikhkhir, from Abd al-Rahman b. Suhar al-Abdi, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The Hour will not come until tribes are swallowed up by the earth, and it is said, 'Who remains of Banu So-and-so?'" He said: When he said "tribes," I understood that this refers to the Arabs, because the non-Arabs are attributed to their villages.
