حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ نَادَى رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ يَوْمَ صِفِّينَ أَفِيكُمْ أُوَيْسٌ الْقَرَنِيُّ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ التَّابِعِينَ أُوَيْسًا الْقَرَنِيَّ.
English Translation
Abu Nu'aym narrated to us: Sharik narrated to us, from Yazid b. Abi Ziyad, from Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Layla, who said: A man of the people of Syria called out on the day of Siffin, "Is Uways al-Qarani among you?" They said, "Yes." He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Among the best of the Followers is Uways al-Qarani.'"
