English Translation
Hasan told us, saying: Ibn Lahi'ah told us, saying: Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj told us, from Abdullah ibn Ka'b, from Ka'b ibn Malik, that he had money owed to him by Abdullah Abu Hadrad al-Aslami, so he met him and pressed him until their voices were raised. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by the two of them and said: "O Ka'b," and gestured with his hand as if to say, "[Reduce it by] half." So he took half of what was owed him and left the other half.
