حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَمَّهُ أَبَا صِرْمَةَ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ غِنَايَ وَغِنَى مَوْلَايَ.
English Translation
Yazid told us, saying: Yahya ibn Sa'id informed us that Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban informed him, that his uncle Abu Sirmah used to relate that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say: "O Allah, I ask You for my own sufficiency and the sufficiency of my dependent."
