حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْعَيْزَارِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ عَجِبْتُ لِلْمُسْلِمِ إِذَا أَصَابَهُ خَيْرٌ حَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَشَكَرَ وَإِذَا أَصَابَتْهُ مُصِيبَةٌ احْتَسَبَ وَصَبَرَ الْمُسْلِمُ يُؤْجَرُ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَتَّى فِي اللُّقْمَةِ يَرْفَعُهَا إِلَى فِيهِ.
English Translation
Sa'd reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: 'I am amazed at the Muslim: if good befalls him, he praises Allah and gives thanks; and if a calamity befalls him, he seeks reward and is patient. The Muslim is rewarded for everything, even for the morsel he raises to his own mouth.'
