English Translation
Muhammad ibn Bakr told us: Ubaydullah ibn Abi Ziyad informed us: Abdullah ibn Kathir al-Dari told me, from Mujahid, who said: An old man who had witnessed the pre-Islamic era, while we were on the campaign of Rhodes, called Ibn Abs, narrated to us: "I was driving a cow for some family of ours." He said: "I heard from its belly: 'O family of Dharih, a clear word, a man crying out that there is no god but Allah.'" He said: "So we arrived at Makkah and found that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had already come forth."
