English Translation

Yunus ibn Muhammad told us: Amr ibn Kathir al-Makki informed us: I asked Abd al-Rahman ibn Kaysan, the freedman of Khalid ibn Asid: "Will you not narrate to me from your father?" He said: "You have not asked me before." Then he said: "My father told me that he saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, come out from the kitchens until he reached the well, wrapped in a waist-wrap with no cloak over him. He saw slaves at the well praying, so he undid the waist-wrap and draped it over his shoulder and prayed two rak'ahs - I do not know whether it was the noon or the afternoon prayer."
