حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ الْعَابِدِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ بِمَكَّةَ قَالَ فَافْتَتَحَ سُورَةً فَلَمَّا انْتَهَى إِلَى ذِكْرِ مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ أَوْ ذِكْرِ عِيسَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ يَشُكُّ فَاخْتَلَفُوا عَلَيْهِ أَخَذَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَعْلَةٌ فَرَكَعَ قَالَ وَابْنُ السَّائِبِ حَاضِرُ ذَلِكَ.
English Translation
Hajjaj told us: Ibn Jurayj said: I heard Muhammad ibn Abbad ibn Ja'far say: Abu Salamah ibn Sufyan, Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As, and Abdullah ibn al-Musayyab al-Abidi informed me, from Abdullah ibn al-Sa'ib, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed the dawn prayer at Makkah. He said: He opened with a surah, and when he reached the mention of Musa and Harun - or the mention of Isa, Muhammad ibn Abbad was uncertain, and they differed about it - a coughing fit seized the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, so he bowed. He said: and Ibn al-Sa'ib was present for that.
