English Translation
Abd al-Rahman told us, Sufyan told us, from Abu Ja'far — Abd al-Rahman said: not al-Farra' — from Abu Salman, from Abu Mahdhurah, who said: I used to give the call to prayer in the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for the dawn prayer, and when I said "hasten to success," I would say "prayer is better than sleep, prayer is better than sleep" — the first call.
