English Translation

Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi and Ibn Ja'far told us, they said: Shu'bah told us, from Qatadah — Ibn Ja'far said in his narration: I heard Abu al-Khalil, from Abdullah ibn al-Harith, from Hakim ibn Hizam, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said, "The two parties to a sale have the option as long as they have not separated." He said: "If the two are truthful and make things clear, they will be blessed in their sale, but if they lie and conceal, the blessing of their sale will be erased" — and Ibn Ja'far said "erased" [with a different word for the same meaning]. Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us the like of it, saying, "as long as they have not separated."
