English Translation

Abdullah ibn Muhammad told us, Abu Khalid al-Ahmar told us, from Mujalid, from al-Sha'bi, from Jabir, who said: We were sitting with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he drew a line like this in front of him and said: "This is the path of Allah, Mighty and Majestic." Then he drew two lines to its right and two lines to its left, and said: "These are the path of Satan." Then he put his hand on the black line and recited this verse: {And that this is My path, straight, so follow it, and do not follow other paths, for they will separate you from His path. That is what He has instructed you, that you may become righteous.}
