حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ حَدَّثَنِي جَابِرٌ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا يُدْخِلُ أَحَدَكُمْ الْجَنَّةَ عَمَلُهُ وَلَا يُنَجِّيهِ عَمَلُهُ مِنْ النَّارِ قِيلَ وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا بِرَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
English Translation
Hasan told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, Abu al-Zubayr told us, Jabir told me, that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "None of you will be admitted to Paradise by his deeds, nor will his deeds save him from the Fire." It was said: "Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Not even me, except by the mercy of Allah, Mighty and Majestic."
