حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ سَعْدٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا حَتَّى يَرِيَهُ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا.
English Translation
Sa'd reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) that he said: 'It is better for the belly of one of you to be filled with pus until it wastes him away than for it to be filled with poetry.'
