حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ وَمَنْصُورٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ لِي جَارِيَةً وَأَنَا أَعْزِلُ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ مَا يُقَدَّرْ يَكُنْ فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ حَمَلَتْ فَجَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهَا حَمَلَتْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا قَضَى اللَّهُ لِنَفْسٍ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ إِلَّا هِيَ كَائِنَةٌ.
English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq told us, Sufyan informed us, from al-A'mash and Mansur, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I have a slave-girl and I practice withdrawal with her. He said to him: Whatever is decreed will be. He did not wait long before she became pregnant, so he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Prophet of Allah, do you not see that she has become pregnant? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whatever Allah has decreed for a soul to come forth, it will come to be.
