حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمْسِكُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَمْوَالَكُمْ وَلَا تَقْسِمُوهَا فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ أَعْمَرَ عُمْرَى فَهِيَ لِلَّذِي أَعْمَرَهَا حَيًّا وَمَيِّتًا وَلِعَقِبِهِ تَقْسِمُوهَا.
English Translation
Hasan told us, Zuhayr ibn Mu'awiya Abu Khaythama told us, Abu al-Zubayr told us, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hold on to your property and do not divide it up, for whoever grants a lifelong gift, it belongs to the one to whom it was granted, in his life and after his death, and to his heirs; do not divide it otherwise.
