حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاذُ بْنُ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْجَمُوحِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَمَّا دُفِنَ سَعْدٌ وَنَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبَّحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَبَّحَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ طَوِيلًا ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ فَكَبَّرَ النَّاسُ ثُمَّ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِمَّ سَبَّحْتَ قَالَ لَقَدْ تَضَايَقَ عَلَى هَذَا الرَّجُلِ الصَّالِحِ قَبْرُهُ حَتَّى فَرَّجَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَنْهُ.
English Translation
Ya'qub told us, my father told us, from Ibn Ishaq, Mu'adh ibn Rifa'a told me, from Mahmud ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Amr ibn al-Jamuh, from Jabir ibn 'Abdullah, who said: When Sa'd was buried, while we were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, glorified Allah, and the people glorified with him for a long time. Then he said Allahu Akbar, and the people said Allahu Akbar with him. Then they said, "O Messenger of Allah, why did you glorify Allah?" He said, "This righteous man's grave became so constricted upon him that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, then relieved it for him."
