English Translation
Ya'qub told us, my father told us, from Ibn Ishaq, 'Asim ibn 'Umar ibn Qatada told me, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Jabir ibn 'Abdullah, from Jabir ibn 'Abdullah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, when the martyrs of Uhud were mentioned, "Indeed, by Allah, I would love to have been left behind with the companions at the foot of the mountain" — meaning the slope of the mountain.
