English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, Shu'bah told us, from Sa'id ibn Ibrahim, from Muhammad ibn Amr ibn al-Hasan ibn Ali, who said: Al-Hajjaj came to Medina, and we asked Jabir ibn Abdullah, and he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray the noon prayer in the intense midday heat, the afternoon prayer while the sun was still clear, the sunset prayer as soon as the sun had set, and the night prayer he would sometimes delay and sometimes hasten - if he saw the people had gathered, he hastened it, and if he saw they were slow, he delayed it - and as for the dawn prayer, he said: they used to, or he said: he used to, pray it while it was still dark.
