حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَابِقٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْرُجُ الدَّجَّالُ فِي خَفْقَةٍ مِنْ الدِّينِ وَإِدْبَارٍ مِنْ الْعِلْمِ فَلَهُ أَرْبَعُونَ لَيْلَةً يَسِيحُهَا فِي الْأَرْضِ الْيَوْمُ مِنْهَا كَالسَّنَةِ وَالْيَوْمُ مِنْهَا كَالشَّهْرِ وَالْيَوْمُ مِنْهَا كَالْجُمُعَةِ ثُمَّ سَائِرُ أَيَّامِهِ كَأَيَّامِكُمْ هَذِهِ وَلَهُ حِمَارٌ يَرْكَبُهُ عَرْضُ مَا بَيْنَ أُذُنَيْهِ أَرْبَعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فَيَقُولُ لِلنَّاسِ أَنَا رَبُّكُمْ وَهُوَ أَعْوَرُ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَيْسَ بِأَعْوَرَ مَكْتُوبٌ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ كَافِرٌ ك ف ر مُهَجَّاةٌ يَقْرَؤُهُ كُلُّ مُؤْمِنٍ كَاتِبٌ وَغَيْرُ كَاتِبٍ يَرِدُ كُلَّ مَاءٍ وَمَنْهَلٍ إِلَّا الْمَدِينَةَ وَمَكَّةَ حَرَّمَهُمَا اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَقَامَتْ الْمَلَائِكَةُ بِأَبْوَابِهَا وَمَعَهُ جِبَالٌ مِنْ خُبْزٍ وَالنَّاسُ فِي جَهْدٍ إِلَّا مَنْ تَبِعَهُ وَمَعَهُ نَهْرَانِ أَنَا أَعْلَمُ بِهِمَا مِنْهُ نَهَرٌ يَقُولُ الْجَنَّةُ وَنَهَرٌ يَقُولُ النَّارُ فَمَنْ أُدْخِلَ الَّذِي يُسَمِّيهِ الْجَنَّةَ فَهُوَ النَّارُ وَمَنْ أُدْخِلَ الَّذِي يُسَمِّيهِ النَّارَ فَهُوَ الْجَنَّةُ قَالَ وَيَبْعَثُ اللَّهُ مَعَهُ شَيَاطِينَ تُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ وَمَعَهُ فِتْنَةٌ عَظِيمَةٌ يَأْمُرُ السَّمَاءَ فَتُمْطِرُ فِيمَا يَرَى النَّاسُ وَيَقْتُلُ نَفْسًا ثُمَّ يُحْيِيهَا فِيمَا يَرَى النَّاسُ لَا يُسَلَّطُ عَلَى غَيْرِهَا مِنْ النَّاسِ وَيَقُولُ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ هَلْ يَفْعَلُ مِثْلَ هَذَا إِلَّا الرَّبُّ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ فَيَفِرُّ الْمُسْلِمُونَ إِلَى جَبَلِ الدُّخَانِ بِالشَّامِ فَيَأْتِيهِمْ فَيُحَاصِرُهُمْ فَيَشْتَدُّ حِصَارُهُمْ وَيُجْهِدُهُمْ جَهْدًا شَدِيدًا ثُمَّ يَنْزِلُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ فَيُنَادِي مِنْ السَّحَرِ فَيَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ مَا يَمْنَعُكُمْ أَنْ تَخْرُجُوا إِلَى الْكَذَّابِ الْخَبِيثِ فَيَقُولُونَ هَذَا رَجُلٌ جِنِّيٌّ فَيَنْطَلِقُونَ فَإِذَا هُمْ بِعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتُقَامُ الصَّلَاةُ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ تَقَدَّمْ يَا رُوحَ اللَّهِ فَيَقُولُ لِيَتَقَدَّمْ إِمَامُكُمْ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِكُمْ فَإِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الصُّبْحِ خَرَجُوا إِلَيْهِ قَالَ فَحِينَ يَرَى الْكَذَّابُ يَنْمَاثُ كَمَا يَنْمَاثُ الْمِلْحُ فِي الْمَاءِ فَيَمْشِي إِلَيْهِ فَيَقْتُلُهُ حَتَّى إِنَّ الشَّجَرَةَ وَالْحَجَرَ يُنَادِي يَا رُوحَ اللَّهِ هَذَا يَهُودِيٌّ فَلَا يَتْرُكُ مِمَّنْ كَانَ يَتْبَعُهُ أَحَدًا إِلَّا قَتَلَهُ.
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Sabiq told us, Ibrahim ibn Tahman told us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, that he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The Dajjal will emerge at a time of decline in religion and withdrawal of knowledge. He will have forty nights in which he travels the earth - one day of which will be like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, then the rest of his days will be like your ordinary days. He will have a donkey to ride, the space between whose ears will be forty cubits. He will say to the people: I am your lord, but he is one-eyed, while your Lord is not one-eyed. Written between his eyes is unbeliever, spelled out letter by letter, which every believer will read, whether literate or illiterate. He will visit every water source and spring except Medina and Makkah, which Allah has forbidden to him, and the angels will stand at their gates. He will have with him mountains of bread, while the people are in hardship, except those who follow him. He will have two rivers with him - I know better than he what they are - one river he calls Paradise and one he calls the Fire; so whoever is made to enter the one he calls Paradise, it is in fact the Fire, and whoever is made to enter the one he calls the Fire, it is in fact Paradise. He said: Allah will send with him devils who will speak to the people, and he will have with him a great trial: he will command the sky and it will rain, as the people see it; and he will kill a person then bring him back to life, as the people see it, but he will not be given power over anyone else besides that one. He will say: O people, could anyone do the like of this except the Lord, Mighty and Majestic? He said: So the Muslims will flee to the Mountain of Smoke in Syria, and he will come to them and besiege them, and their siege will intensify and distress them greatly. Then Isa son of Maryam will descend and call out before dawn, saying: O people, what prevents you from going out against this wicked liar? They will say: This is a jinn. So they set out, and there they find Isa son of Maryam, peace and blessings be upon him. The prayer is then established, and it is said to him: Step forward, O Spirit of Allah. He says: Let your own leader step forward and lead you in prayer. When they have prayed the dawn prayer, they go out against him. He said: Then, when the liar sees him, he dissolves like salt dissolves in water. Isa walks toward him and kills him, until even the tree and the stone cry out: O Spirit of Allah, here is a Jew hiding. And he will not leave any of those who followed him without killing him.
