حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُتَوَكِّلِ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا لَا يَضَعُونَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي الطَّعَامِ حَتَّى يَكُونَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هُوَ يَبْدَأُ.
English Translation
Affan told us, Hammad ibn Salamah told us, from Humayd, from Abu al-Mutawakkil, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, that they would not put their hands into the food until the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, began first.
