حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ أَنْبَأَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَابِرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي الطَّاعُونِ الْفَارُّ مِنْهُ كَالْفَارِّ يَوْمَ الزَّحْفِ وَمَنْ صَبَرَ فِيهِ كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُ شَهِيدٍ.
English Translation
Abu Salamah told us, Bakr ibn Mudar informed us, from Amr ibn Jabir al-Hadrami, that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say concerning the plague: "One who flees from it is like one who flees on the day of battle, and one who bears it patiently has the reward of a martyr."
