English Translation
Abd al-Samad told us, my father told me, Wasil the freedman of Abu Uyaynah told us, Khalid ibn Urfutah told me, from Talhah ibn Nafi', from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: We were with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when a foul, putrid smell arose. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do you know what this smell is? This is the smell of those who backbite the believers."
