حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةٍ فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا فَفَضَلَتْ فَضْلَةٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَجِيءُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْفَجِّ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ يَأْكُلُ هَذِهِ الْفَضْلَةَ قَالَ سَعْدٌ وَكُنْتُ تَرَكْتُ أَخِي عُمَيْرًا يَتَوَضَّأُ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ هُوَ عُمَيْرٌ قَالَ فَجَاءَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ فَأَكَلَهَا.
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him) was brought a bowl of food and ate from it, and some remained. The Messenger of Allah said: 'A man from the people of Paradise will come from this mountain pass and eat this leftover.' Sa'd said: I had left my brother Umayr preparing himself. I thought it would be Umayr, but then Abdullah ibn Salam came and ate it.
