حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ أَفْضَلُ الصَّدَقَةِ صَدَقَةٌ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى.
English Translation
Musa told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say, "The best charity is that given out of surplus wealth, and begin with those you are responsible for, and the upper hand is better than the lower hand."
