English Translation
Musa ibn Dawud told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, at the time of his death, called for a writing tablet to write upon it a document so that they would not go astray after him. He said: 'Umar ibn al-Khattab opposed this until it was set aside.
