حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا عَنْ الْعَقَبَةِ فَقَالَ شَهِدَهَا سَبْعُونَ فَوَافَقَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ آخِذٌ بِيَدِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَذْتُ وَأَعْطَيْتُ.
English Translation
Hasan told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, Abu al-Zubayr told us: I asked Jabir about the Pledge of al-'Aqabah. He said, "Seventy men were present at it, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, met them while al-'Abbas ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib held his hand. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, 'I have taken and I have given.'"
