حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ غِلَظُ الْقُلُوبِ وَالْجَفَاءُ فِي أَهْلِ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْإِيمَانُ فِي أَهْلِ الْحِجَازِ.
English Translation
Abdullah ibn al-Harith al-Makhzumi told us, from Ibn Jurayj: Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say, "Hardness of hearts and harshness are found among the people of the east, while faith is among the people of the Hijaz."
