حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا كَفَّنَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ فَلْيُحْسِنْ كَفَنَهُ إِنْ اسْتَطَاعَ.
English Translation
Rawh told us, Zakariyya — meaning Ibn Ishaq — told us, he said: I heard Abu al-Zubayr say: I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say: I heard the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "When one of you shrouds his brother, let him make his shroud good, if he is able to."
