حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ وَحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ حَسَنٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَذْبَحُوا إِلَّا مُسِنَّةً إِلَّا أَنْ تَعْسُرَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَذْبَحُوا جَذَعَةً مِنْ الضَّأْنِ.
English Translation
Hashim and Hasan ibn Musa told us, they said: Zuhayr told us, Abu al-Zubayr told us — Hasan said, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, he said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not sacrifice except a mature animal, unless it is difficult for you, in which case sacrifice a yearling of the sheep."
