English Translation
Abu Mu'awiyah told us: al-A'mash told us, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no male or female but that upon his head, when he lies down to sleep, are three knots of silk tied by Satan. If he wakes and remembers Allah, the Exalted, one knot is loosened; if he then performs ablution, another knot is loosened; and if he then rises to pray, all his knots are loosened."
