قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ عَنْ أَبِي وَهْبٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى أَنَّ نَافِعًا حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ وَعَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ بَاعَ عَبْدًا وَلَهُ مَالٌ فَلَهُ مَالُهُ وَعَلَيْهِ دَيْنُهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشْتَرِطَ الْمُبْتَاعُ قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ إِلَى هَاهُنَا وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي وَالْبَاقِي سَمَاعٌ.
English Translation
Abdullah said: I found in my father's book: al-Hakam ibn Musa informed us — Abdullah said: and al-Hakam ibn Musa also narrated it to us directly, saying: Yahya ibn Hamzah told us, from Abu Wahb, from Sulayman ibn Musa: that Nafi' told him, from Abdullah ibn Umar, and Ata' ibn Abi Rabah, from Jabir ibn Abdullah: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever sells a slave who has property, the property belongs to him, and the debt is upon him, unless the buyer stipulates otherwise." Abdullah said: Up to here I found it in my father's book, and the rest is by direct hearing.
