حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ سُرَاقَةَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِيمَ الْعَمَلُ أَفِي شَيْءٍ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ أَوْ فِي شَيْءٍ نَسْتَأْنِفُهُ فَقَالَ بَلْ فِي شَيْءٍ قَدْ فُرِغَ مِنْهُ قَالَ فَفِيمَ الْعَمَلُ إِذًا قَالَ اعْمَلُوا فَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ لِمَا خُلِقَ لَهُ.
English Translation
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'If one of you performs ablution and does it well, then comes to the mosque — with each step Allah raises him one degree and removes one sin from him. And when he prays, the angels continue to pray for him as long as he remains in his place of prayer, saying: O Allah, have mercy on him; O Allah, forgive him; O Allah, accept his repentance.'
