English Translation
Anas said regarding the Night Journey (Isra) of the Prophet (peace be upon him): 'Before revelation came to him, while he was sleeping in the Sacred Mosque, three (angels) came to him. The first of them said: Which of them is he? The middle one said: He is the best of them. The last one said: Take the best of them. That was all that night, and he did not see them again until they came to him another night — while his heart perceived but his eyes did not see, for he was sleeping — and they took him to the well of Zamzam. Jibril took charge of him. He opened his chest, took out his heart, washed it with Zamzam water, then filled it with faith and wisdom and returned it. Then he was taken up to the nearest heaven.'
