حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي هِشَامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ كَانُوا يَسْتَفْتِحُونَ الْقِرَاءَةَ بِ { الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ } حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ مِثْلَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ شَكَّ فِي عُثْمَانَ.
English Translation
The Prophet (peace be upon him), Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman used to begin the recitation with 'Al-hamdu lillahi Rabbil-alamin (All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds).'
