حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ فَلَمَّا قَضَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ أَيُّكُمْ الْقَائِلُ كَلِمَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ فَأَرَمَّ الْقَوْمُ قَالَ فَأَعَادَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ أَنَا قُلْتُهَا وَمَا أَرَدْتُ بِهَا إِلَّا الْخَيْرَ قَالَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقَدْ ابْتَدَرَهَا اثْنَا عَشَرَ مَلَكًا فَمَا دَرَوْا كَيْفَ يَكْتُبُونَهَا حَتَّى سَأَلُوا رَبَّهُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَقَالَ اكْتُبُوهَا كَمَا قَالَ عَبْدِي.
English Translation
Bahz and 'Affan told us, they said: Hammam told us, Qatadah told us, from Anas, who said: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, during prayer, and said: "Praise be to God, abundant, good, and blessed praise." When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had finished the prayer, he said: "Which of you spoke such-and-such words?" The people fell silent. He repeated it three times, then a man said: "I said it, and I intended by it nothing but good." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Twelve angels rushed to it, not knowing how to record it, until they asked their Lord, Mighty and Majestic, and He said: 'Write it just as My servant said it.'"
