حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الصَّيْقَلِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ خَرَجْنَا نَصْرُخُ بِالْحَجِّ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً وَقَالَ لَوْ اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ لَجَعَلْتُهَا عُمْرَةً وَلَكِنْ سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ وَقَرَنْتُ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ.
English Translation
Ahmad ibn Abd al-Malik told us, Zuhayr told us, Abu Ishaq told us, from Abu Asma' al-Sayqal, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: We set out proclaiming the talbiyah for Hajj, but when we arrived at Makkah the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered us to make it an 'Umrah, and he said: "If I had known beforehand what I have come to know now, I would have made it an 'Umrah, but I have driven the sacrificial animal along and combined Hajj and 'Umrah."
